Yanni (John) & Maria Athanasiadis, founders of Stuart Range Caravan Park, came to Coober Pedy over 30 years ago after owning and running pizza bars in Melbourne. Life in the pioneer outback town was very uncertain - there was no reliable water supply or sealed road, but there was the ever present excitement of searching for the elusive gem - Opal.

The dream was set in motion after Yanni won the district council vote for best Caravan Park design and it all started from there - literally from scratch. After some years Jenny and Paul joined their parents in business and added their personal touches to the park. The Pizza Bar was established and became ever popular with locals and tourists. The Park is landscape designed by Paul who has a love for palms and a vision for the Park's future.
