Local Attractions

Coober Pedy is situated in the outback of South Australia, 850km north of Adelaide and 690km south of Alice Springs. The township offers all the facilities expected in a large country town, including shops and restaurants. The town is surrounded by a moon type landscape dotted with shafts and mullock heaps from mining activities, with opal workings extending for nearly 40km around the town.

At Stuart Range we offer Bus Tours of Coober Pedy and the Breakaways. These run daily from April to October. We also provide information on other activities in and around Coober Pedy.  Within our park we have a traditional Pizzeria restaurant servicing locals and visitors, and as an extra for going on the bus tour guests receive 10% discount on pizza.
